Time Of The Burning Horizon

Commissioned by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation for the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026

Performed within and around the sculptural works of the Years of the Shining Face installation, the performance unfolds with projected videos, archival recordings, and live readings. Within them, the Time Objects emerge intermittently, sometimes as images, sometimes as protagonists of the text itself.

At the core of the performance is the proposition that objects, much like songs, travel through time by passing from voice to voice and hand to hand. Through this transmission, they shift in material, form, colour, and scale; they accumulate echoes and distortions; they move between document and tale. 

The work culminates in the choreographed apparition of the artist’s double, a figure who repeats, extends, and unsettles the boundaries of presence, opening a space where recurrence itself becomes a mode of appearance.

Latest texts Hussein Nassereddine is a multidisciplinary artist living and working between Beirut and Paris. His work originates from a practice around language that builds fragile monuments rooted in collective histories and resources of songs, poetry and ruins.
